Recently the new Apple iPhone 7 and 7s have been in the tech news buzz and everyone is busy talking about it. But there were two features which many experts had expected the Apple iPhone 7 to have, which turned out to be missing.
So now this features and expected to be in the iPhone 8, as they are very beneficial and much needed in the new flagship devices. So in this article we are going to discuss about the expected features in the next iPhone in a detailed way.
So these two features which the Tech Gurus expect in the upcoming Apple iPhone are:
- OLED screen
- Wireless Charging
Lets know about these in some detail:
- OLED Screen:
Over the last several months, rumors have suggested that Apple would release an OLED-based iPhone display next year. Those reports say the entire iPhone face will be covered in glass, allowing users to tap around the screen anywhere they wish. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which currently sits below the iPhone’s screen, would be baked directly into the glass.
While Apple hasn’t confirmed that’s the case, Tai Jeng-wu, president of Sharp, which makes OLED panels, was speaking to students at Tatung University this week and said the iPhone is moving to OLED panel, according to the Nikkei.
But, what is OLED screen?
>>An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current. This layer of organic semiconductor is situated between two electrodes; typically, at least one of these electrodes is transparent. OLEDs are used to create digital displays in devices such as television screens, computer monitors, portable systems such as mobile phones, handheld game consoles and PDAs. A major area of research is the development of white OLED devices for use in solid-state lighting applications.
• Wireless Charging
The prospect of wireless charging could also prove appealing. Several Android–based competitors, including the Samsung Galaxy S line of devices, come with the ability for users to wirelessly charge their smartphones by placing them on a conductive pad. Some had hoped the iPhone 7 would feature wireless technology, but Apple decided against it this time around.
According to unidentified sources who spoke with the Nikkei, Apple is considering adding the feature to next year’s handset. The only possible hiccup, a source told the Nikkei, would be if manufacturers can’t produce enough wireless charging components in time for next year’s release. It’s believed that longtime Apple manufacturing partner Foxconn will produce the components for the iPhone, but it’s unknown whether wireless charging would come to all iPhone models next year or just one.
For its part, Apple has remained silent on its plans for the future and hasn’t even hinted that a new iPhone will be released in 2017. However, with the 10-year iPhone anniversary just around the corner and rumors mounting, it’s becoming increasingly likely next year’s iPhone will be the one customers had hoped to see this year.
More about wireless charging:
Wireless charging works on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Coils of wire in the base station (the charging plate) create a magnetic field as the current passes through. This field can induce an electrical current in an adjacent coil of wire without actually touching it. If this wire is part of a battery charging circuit, then you have wireless charging.
It’s not as efficient as a direct cable connection between the batter and – wireless charing is around 60%-70% efficient and it is still recommend that booting a device from cold is done through a wired connection.
These are some more features and changes which might be seen in the next iPhone:
- Screen with a higher resolution, maybe full HD (1080×1920).
- Minor changes in the placement of sensors.
- Better Bokeh–blur effect in images.
- Some are even expecting full glass covered face of the iPhone with touch ID sensor directly embedded in it.
-So, this is what techgurus expect in the next Apple iPhone in 2017, which is expected to be known as iPhone 8.
